LiF NOTES
SEPTEMBER 2026 EDITION
Strong Season + Fresh Start Energy, Without the Extremes — Forward thinking for women building real strength.
LiFT-HER: FALL OPEN STUDIO
Honor. Elevate. Rise.
Location & Time: 192 & Giles, Gretna · VIP Early Access 9:00 AM · Doors 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM · FREE
One studio. One day. A room full of women who are done waiting to feel good in their own skin. Last spring, 50+ women came through the door and 15+ local businesses stocked the raffle table. This one is bigger.
What's inside: Permanent jewelry, tiny tats, Botox, headshots, functional nutrition chats. And me, on strength, nutrition and wellness — ask me anything you've been wondering about.
What it costs: Nothing. No pitch, no pressure, nothing you have to buy. Walk in, wander, talk to people, get your jewelry welded on, leave. You do not have to be a lifter. You do not have to be a client.
Own a business? There are still a few ways to get your name on the raffle table and in front of this room.
A Forward Note — From me, as we move forward together
September does something to people.
The light changes, the calendar flips, and suddenly everyone is announcing a reset. New plan. New program. Starting Monday. Starting over.
I've watched women do this for over twenty-five years. And I've watched most of them be back where they started by November.
Here's what I want you to understand: the fresh feeling is real, and it's useful. It's the extremes that wreck it.
You don't need to overhaul your life. You don't need a 6 AM alarm you'll resent by week three, a food plan that makes eating with your family impossible, or a workout schedule built for a woman with no job and no kids.
You need a structure you can actually run when the week goes sideways. Because it will.
This month isn't about starting over. It's about building something that holds.

THIS MONTH'S FOCUS
Structured Rebuild
Fall energy, minus the crash.
1. Pick a floor, not a ceiling.
Instead of "75 train days a week," decide the smallest number you will not go below. Two? Three? That's your floor. Anything above it is a bonus, not a requirement. Floors get ceiling. Ceilings get missed.
2. Rebuild one thing, not five.
Sleep, food, training, water, stress — pick the one that's most broken and leave the rest alone until it's fixed. Five simultaneous changes is how hamstrings and outcomes get hurt.
3. Your 100% moves.
Some days your best is a full session. Some days your best is a walk and getting to bed on time. If that's your real ceiling that day, it isn't partial credit — it's your 100%. Show up at whatever level you've actually got.
4. Put it on the calendar like it's a client meeting.
Not "sometime this week." Tuesday, 6 PM. Structure isn't restriction. Structure is what keeps the thing from evaporating.
STRENGTH MOVE OF THE MONTH
The Bench Hip Hinge
Why it matters: This is the move that teaches your body what a hip hinge actually is — and almost nobody was ever taught.
Here's what makes this version work: the bench does the coaching. You don't have to think about whether your hips are moving back. If they're touching the bench, you're doing it right.
How To Do It:
- Stand with your back to a bench, close enough that if you bounce your knees a little, the backs of your calves just brush it.
- Now push your hips straight back — and keep your calves in contact with the bench the whole way down.
FUEL FORWARD
Anchor Your Protein at Breakfast
Most women I work with eat almost no protein until dinner, then try to cram a day's worth into one meal. It doesn't work, and it's why you're starving at 3 PM and grazing until bed.
The Fix: 30+ grams at breakfast.
Or as close to 30 before 11 AM. Before you change anything else about how you eat, start here.
CLIENT LiF SPOTLIGHT

MEREDITH
Meredith came to me a few years ago already doing the work — just the wrong ratio of it. Lots of cardio, not enough lifting. That's one of the most common stories I hear from women in their 50s, and it's one of the easiest to fix. Not by working harder. By working differently.
Q: What were you struggling with before you started?
"I was stuck on doing too much cardio and not enough lifting. Because of this I was seeing limited results in my strength."
Q: What's changed?
"I'm stronger and very fit — probably in some of the best shape of my life."
Q: What surprised you most about your progress?
"I finally have some muscle definition in my arms. Pretty exciting at 54!"
Q: What nutrition win are you proudest of?
"I've definitely finally figured out how to get my protein in."
Q: What strength win has held?
"Staying consistent and disciplined even when life throws a curveball."
Q: What feels different in your daily life now?
"Exercise is a non-negotiable in my daily routine."
"Instead of chasing quick fixes or perfection, she focuses on creating healthy habits that fit into real life. I no longer feel like I'm constantly starting over. Strength training has become a part of who I am, and I genuinely look forward to it." — Meredith
Read that last part again. Part of who I am. That's an identity shift.
BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

BECKY EDWARDS
CFO MINDSET
I wanted Becky in this issue because money is the thing most women in business will white-knuckle through alone. She's spent 25 years proving it doesn't have to be that way.
Q: Who do you serve?
"Most of my clients are women from coast to coast who use QuickBooks Online. 6, 7, and 8 figure business owners hire me to help them get set up, catch up, and clean up their books so they can focus on growing."
Q: Why did you start your business?
"I was tired of seeing small business owners spend hours on bookkeeping... I started my business to support them, not take over for them. Once you learn my easy 5-step process, you can do your bookkeeping in less than 15 minutes a week."
Q: What makes you different?
"I've been a small business accountant for 25 years. There isn't a QuickBooks problem I haven't seen or fixed."
Q: What do you love most about your work?
"Watching small business owners take control of their money. I love working side by side with women and learning about their business and their industry."
"When it comes to the money in your business: don't ignore it, if you want more of it." — Becky Edwards
