You're Not Eating Enough — Let Alone Enough Protein

    You're Not Eating Enough

I'm going to say the thing diet culture never will: most women I meet aren't eating too much. They're eating too little.

Too little food. Way too little protein. And usually not enough water or fiber to go with it. Then they wonder why they're tired, foggy, always hungry, losing strength, and stuck.

You don't need another cut. You need to actually fuel the body you're asking to show up every day.

    Things to know

    • Under-eating backfires. Chronically eating too little tells your body to hold on, not let go. You feel it as low energy, poor recovery, and cravings that won't quit.
    • Protein is the one most women miss. As we age, we need more protein, not less — to hold onto muscle, recover, and stay strong. Most women 35+ are running well under what they need.
    • Muscle needs materials. You can train all you want, but without enough protein you're building a house with no bricks.
    • Water and fiber aren't optional side notes. They're how everything actually works — digestion, energy, fullness, recovery. Skip them and even good eating falls flat.

    Things to do

Here's the golden rule: no zero-to-hero. We don't overhaul everything on Monday and burn out by Thursday. That's the exact cycle we're leaving behind. We add slow.

    • Add protein first — one meal at a time. Start with breakfast. Most women crater here (coffee and a maybe-bite). Get a real protein source in early and the whole day steadies out. Then build the next meal. Then the next.
    • Add water. Not a whole gallon overnight — just more than yesterday, consistently. Keep a bottle where you can see it.
    • Add fiber — and hit your minimum. Fiber is the quiet hero: fullness, digestion, steady energy. Most women fall short of the daily minimum. Build up slowly (fiber + water together, or your gut will have opinions) with veggies, fruit, beans, and whole grains.
    • Build, don't restrict. Notice the theme? Every step here is add, not take away. That's on purpose. This isn't a diet. It's fueling.

    The mindset shift

You've been trained to think progress means less. Less food, less bread, less joy, less on the plate.

Flip it. For most women over 35, forward looks like more — more protein, more water, more fiber, more strength, more energy to actually live your life.

Add slow. Stay consistent. Let it build.

You don't need another diet. You need a way forward.

    Strong. Fueled. Free.
